Company Profile

Leesa, an online mattress company that manufactures skillfully crafted mattresses for all body types and shapes of different sleepers provide the support and comfort every one of us need in order to sleep much better. As a matter of fact, Leesa’s famous slogan is “ A mattress redesigned, a sleep experience reinvented.” All Leesa’s mattresses are designed on providing all sleepers with the utmost sleep, are 100 percent made in America, from manufacturing to shipping, and boasts 4 layers of premium CertiPur-Us certified materials.

Furthermore, this mattress company ascertains that the buying process is much simple and hassle-free, meaning consumers will never feel uncomfortable by the thought of a salesman hovering over you. Also, they claim to make the installation process as simple as possible.

Consider Your Sleep Preference: Pros and Cons

For sure, mattress companies have taken the modern advances in fabric and mattress technology and fused it with them. But it’s important to consider your sleep preference also. This in-depth Leesa mattress review will help you figure out if its good fit or not.

Leesa is a good fit for people who like:

You may not Like Lessa if:

Firmness and Comfort Levels

When sitting or lying down on the mattress, you’ll instantly feel the Avena foam. It’ll give a quick response and has a small amount of bounce into it as well. As you push further into the Leesa mattress’s layers, you’ll feel some air being released through the holes in the comfort or Avena foam layer.

With that said, it clearly shows that the cover has a top of the line breathability. As you press even further, you could feel the memory foam layer and the mattress contouring to your body a little bit.

But of course, everyone feels the firmness of the Leesa mattress much different since we are unique, meaning different body types, shapes, weight, and sizes. Overall, the Leesa mattress is in a medium firmness range, with perhaps a bit hedge towards the firmer side. This firmness level is already a great feeling for most sleeper and will be an excellent fit for people who sleep in multiple sleeping positions. And again, there’s a good amount of bounce.

in the mattress. Plus the quick response of the memory foam layer and the firmness of the mattress gives sleepers the feeling of lying on a mattress without sinking into it. Everyone will feel supported and can freely change their sleeping position without any conflict from the mattress. Aside from the initial feeling of the Avena Foam, once you sleep into it, you’ll feel the pressure relieving of the mattress which makes your sleep a lot
comfortable.

With its firmness and comfort level, the Leesa, with its Avena foam, offers sleepers the support and responsiveness needed when sleeping in various sleeping positions. This state of the art mattress model contours and cradles without that ‘sinking’ feeling and gives a balance of comfort and support night after night.

Temperature

When it comes to the temperature of this mattress, you’ll never have a problem. The Leesa mattress lets people sleep less hot than the average temperature of other memory foam mattresses in the market. Thus, rest assured that you’ll have regulated temperature when you sleep and you’ll have no issues with sleeping too hot.

Sinkage Test

As for that sinking feeling and in order to get a much clearer idea of how much sinkage can anyone expect to feel on a Leesa, four balls of different weights, sizes, and densities are placed on the mattress to find out how much they’ll sink to the surface.

So there’s a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 lb steel ball. These four balls can help us imitate various size or body parts of a certain individual to measure how far they’ll sink into the mattress.

The result is, a 6 lb medicine ball has an inch (1) of sinkage, while a 10 lb steel ball has 2 inches of sinkage. A 50 lb medicine ball has 4.5 inches of sinkage and a 100 lb steel ball has 6.5 inches of sinkage.

Motion Transfer

One of the many remarkable features of memory foams is its capability to impede motion transfer. Have you seen the one commercial in the late 1990s about memory foam? Well, the commercial was all about a woman jumping on a memory foam mattress while a glass of red wine was sitting on the mattress.

Surprisingly, the glass did not move at all. From that, it says a lot about how memory foams counteract motion transfer. Leesa mattress is certainly one of that mattresses, the very same quality.

Say, for example, you have a son or a partner sleeping with you. Thus, instinctively, you’ll have to move around carefully and slightly so that the other person sleeping is not disturbed. However, with Leesa mattress, you don’t have to worry about moving around or changing your sleeping positions.

Leesa’s notable motion transfer and a medium firmness level make it an excellent mattress for sleep partners or couples to consider trying out. With Leesa, you have the luxury of having low motion transfer, but doesn’t make you feel stuck.

Edge Support

Of course, edge support is of varying significance, depending on whether consumers spend a long period sleeping or sitting on the edge. It’s definitely something to think about, though rarely a reason for buyers not to buy a mattress.

Especially if you’re going to share your bed or use the whole surface area of the mattress, then edge support is something that you want to take into consideration. If you’re lying on your back near the edge of the Leesa, you’ll feel well-supported and secured, though you’ll feel a bit of pressure through the comfort layers, that’s common for most mattresses.

Even if you change your sleeping positions too often, you’ll never have to worry about rolling or falling out of bed. Plus the Avena foam makes the transition out of bed much easier.

Quality, Construction, Materials

Leesa mattress is a memory foam bed that is delivered to your home compressed in a box. This bed is designed for different foundations such as Bunkie boards on box springs, solid platforms, slatted foundations, and solid box springs or foundations.

It is a hybrid memory foam mattress, which means it contains a combination of various kinds of foam to get the optimal support and comfort. Thus, Leesa mattress is designed to provide sleepers great comfort, support, and cooling provided by foam layer called Avena foam, which is a responsive poly foam.

Construction

There are two pivotal components to Leesa’s construction, the cover and the layered foams.

Cover

The cover of the Leesa mattress is cut from a piece of fabric that embraces the entirety of the mattress. Even if the cover itself is functionally not that of a major component, but it says a lot about the Leesa Sleep company.

The cover looks certainly beautiful and sharper since it’s cut from a single piece of material. Plus the cover is fairly thick. It’s a high-quality cover that has been woven to perfection. The cover is made up of poly-lycra blend fabric, which is the same fabric used in sports clothing. Thus, it’s highly breathable, durable, and stretchy.

Layers

Material Quality Rating

Overall, the Leesa mattress is an all foam structure standing 10 inches tall. It is made up of three layers – the top, middle, and the base layer. And judging by the materials included, Leesa should be able to provide sleepers strong support, a balanced feel, and pressure relief.

With Avena foam being the most distinct aspect of this mattress, sleepers will have the utmost responsiveness and support while lying down in the bed and various sleeping positions. The Leesa also offers a stylish, versatile cover that comes in two different designs – the Airlifting Limited Edition that brings another level of design and style and of course the Classic Leesa.

The cover isn’t only cool and smooth to touch, but it adds a seamless edge to the mattress that adds superb feel and amazing look. If you like a mattress that contours your body but don’t like that stuck feeling, then consider Leesa mattress.

Other Things To Consider

Bed Frame

In all fairness, Leesa can go well with a bed frame and without. You don’t have to make use of a bed frame if you don’t actually want one. As long as your floor is a solid, stable surface, your Leesa mattress is good to go. However, there are a few things that you’ll need to consider about placing your mattress on the floor.

On top of all, because of allergens, dust, dirt, pet hair, and moisture. Keeping your mattress off of the floor allows you to clean the areas above and below it. Plus, elevating it off the floor gives you the best sleeping experience as possible.

On the other hand, Leesa works well with the different types of bed frames. You can use platform beds, bunkie boards, modern box springs, adjustable beds, smart base steel frame, and the Leesa bed frame.

Unboxing

For your convenience, it’ll be best to move the Leesa into the room where you’ll set it up. If you’re unboxing it all one, try placing your foot on one of the box flaps to keep it in place while you take out the bedroll. Avoid using a sharp object to open the box because maybe you’ll incidentally slice the mattress.

Once you pull out the bedroll, you’ll instantly notice that your Leesa will start to expand. But before that, you’ll need to place it first on any solid surface and don’t forget to remove the plastic wrap.

Take note that it might take an hour for the Leesa to expand and spread completely, and a couple of days to firm up fully.

Off-gassing

When you first pull your Leesa out of its packaging, there is a distinct “new mattress” smell and some slight off-gassing. However, it typically disappears in a short span of time. The Leesa is eco-friendly, and Certi-PUR certified as well.

CertiPUR-US is a non-profit organization that ensures that the flexible polyurethane foam or poly foam on memory foam meets certain health and environmental standards. While they are not completely VOC (volatile organic compound) or chemical free, CertiPUR-US certified foams are made without ozone depleters, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and other flame retardants.

However, some research shows or reveal that 11% of consumers reported issues with an unpleasant odor and off-gassing but overall, the odor is minimal. The smell resembles the same type of scent most people remember from an open can of paint or from a new car.

FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS

So, is Leesa the right mattress for you? Leesa is ideal for almost anyone. Specifically, those who like a mattress with a more balanced feel and mattress with a fairly neutral overall firmness. Aside from that, Leesa is perfect for those who would want to have a fair amount of sinkage and good body contouring.

Leesa mattress uses high-quality materials but still at a very reasonable price. Plus it has a balance foam feel that offers pressure relief for those who want to dig further into the mattress. And if you like to move around or change your sleeping positions, you don’t have to worry about falling out because Leesa adjusts to your position without any interference.
