Summary

With years of industry experience in creating and manufacturing some of the world’s best mattresses, Nolah offers consumers a high-end high-tech cooling mattress with better pressure relief and durability than other conventional Latex and Memory Foam.

The cooling comfort, temperature neutral, and bouncy support of Nolah mattress has earned the company plentiful positive reviews.

Nolah also pledges to donate 7% of their profits to protecting our planet and its wildlife. For every Nolah mattress sold, the company adopts an endangered wildlife native to North America.

Nolah is a great choice when buying online.  Nolah will definitely work for almost everyone except if you like a firm mattress. However, one potential thing to keep in mind is if you are a heavy person.

We definitely recommend the Nolah to people who are looking for a bed with a perfectly medium feel and luxury materials. If you have trouble sleeping because of pressure points or you find yourself sweating at night, but you want to enjoy the benefits of a foam bed, then the Nolah may be the right one for you.

Introduction

Concentrated on innovation, the organizers of Nolah needed to supplant what they saw as obsolete flexible foam and latex materials. Their 20 years of joined involvement in the rest field drove them to make Nolah Air Foam™, an exclusive material that stays temperature unbiased and lessens the weight on hips, shoulders, and backs.

The organization asserts their new material is “superior to anything adjustable foam and latex,” which makes for a fascinating case to investigate! Nolah is an online, direct-to-consumer retailer of bed-a-box-mattresses. Their flagship Nolah Mattress makes use of a proprietary foam that has some very interesting properties.  It is immediately responsive, relieves pressure very well, and is also designed to keep you cool.

In this review, we are evaluating the Nolah Original mattress, designed in their own foam material known as Nolah AirFoam.

They suffuse this foam with a plethora of tiny air pockets to support cooling. It is a comfortable and soft mattress that often absorbs and holds most of the heat.

The 10 inches memory foam offers pressure relief and enough cooling. It addresses common issues such as sleeping hot and slow responsiveness. Since health and sleep is extremely important, Nolah designed it in an exclusive way.

You Will Like This Mattress If You:

  • Are looking for a mattress with great pressure relief – The Nolah foam layer has great pressure relief when you compare it to high end memory foam that doesn’t have as much give.  The foam also has very good airflow to help maintain a cooler temperature.
  • Like memory foam feel but with less of a “stuck” feeling – Some of my mattresses in my store use the same kind of foam Nolah uses.  In fact my best selling hybrid uses it. It has a great feel people just seem to really like.  You get excellent pressure relief and support like memory foam but with a faster response time and less of a stuck feeling.
  • Are side sleeper – The Nolah is a bit softer than some of the brands we’ve tested.  So if you are a side sleeper it will work great for you. We liked it in all positions as far as support goes, but especially on our side.
  • Sleep hot – The Nolah foam and Avena foam layer underneath pair up nicely to help disperse heat and maintain good airflow.  Nolah slept cool and I never experienced any excessive heat or sweating. You can hear the air whoosh through the Nolah foam when you push quickly on it, the airflow is very good.
  • Will be using an adjustable base –  If you own or plan to buy an adjustable base at some point the Nolah performs well on the base. It bends easily and lays back to the flat position once you are finished inclining.
  • Are Looking For A Durable Mattress At A Value Price– The mattress is well constructed and, unlike many mattresses at this price range, is quite durable. This reasonably priced mattress should last you quite a while.

You Will Not Like This Mattress If You:

  • Want a tall extra thick mattress set – Although Nolah does not bottom out it is not going to be super thick and tall like some mattresses you will find online and in stores like a pillowtop. You won’t have issues finding sheets to fit however.
  • Are someone who prefers a coiled mattress –  If you have tested foam mattresses and don’t like them, I don’t believe the Nolah will change your mind on that preference.  Foam mattresses will not have quite as much bounce as a coil mattress. The foam mattresses will have the absolute best motion isolation and very good pressure relief.
  • Want a firm mattress – Your weight will dictate how firm you think something is but we feel the Nolah is a little softer than the average bed in a box but will work for most combination sleepers and for most sleeping positions for the vast majority of people out there.
  • You Are A Stomach Sleeper– You may require something firmer if you sleep in this position. You might need more support on your hips and this mattress doesn’t really give that. Overall, the Nolah is softer than average, so you may want to look for something firmer.
  • You Are A Heavier Person– If you are 200 lbs or more, you may want to look elsewhere. The top air foam layer is very soft, so you could press right through that and engage with the firmer layers beneath (especially when on your side).

Construction

The Nolah is engineered with three distinct layers of foam, building up to 10 inches of comfort. The bed was specifically designed to appeal to side sleepers, who benefit from the pressure relief of soft, contouring foam. The layers, then, work closely together to relieve the discomfort of increased tension at the shoulders and hips.

Cover

The cover is made with a mixture of polyester and viscose, a semi-synthetic cotton substitute. It’s soft and cool to the touch.

Comfort Layer

The top layer of the bed is built with 2” of the Nolah AirFoam™ I mentioned in the introduction. This pliant section provides the contouring of memory foam, but doesn’t trap as much body heat as the material is sometimes known to do. There’s a lot of give here, which should provide some excellent pressure relief for side sleepers.

Transition Layer

Below the Nolah AirFoam we find the transition layer, which is made up of 1” of latex-like foam. It has a quick response to pressure and helps connect the comfort of the top layer with the sturdiness of the mattress’ base.

Foundation Layer

The foundation of the Nolah is constructed with 7” of high-density polyfoam, a firm layer that responds well to pressure and gives the foam mattress its structure. It will work on any solid surface, whether yo place it on the floor or on a boxspring/ wood foundation.

Firmness

The Nolah is a mattress with a medium firmness, designed to appeal to most kinds of sleepers. This means that it would fall at around a 6 or so on a scale of 1 to 10, with the latter being the sturdiest.

For that firmness level, it makes it comparable to other mattress-in-a-box offerings, though the texture and feel of the mattress is quite a bit different than standard memory foam. It has a more “airy” sensation, since the top layer is free from a lot of the elastics and other denser materials that weigh standard foam down.

It’s neither so hard that it would create pressure points, nor is it so soft that you lose any support. In fact, it is scientifically proven to cause less peak pressure than a traditional memory foam bed. It has that “just right” feel for most people, keeping the spine aligned and the curves of your body contoured.

A medium-level immovability implies that most positions should feel bolstered and appreciate an agreeable night’s rest. This dimension of solidness has weight help and support, making it incredible for nearly anybody, and in addition couples with varying needs.

This sleeping cushion has a medium-level solidness. We have appraised it a 4.5 to 5 out of 10 on our immovability scale with 10 being the firmest.

It is imperative to take note of that Nolah is marginally less firm than others available. By and large, Nolah’s development guarantees that you will feel tenderly supported however not sink down so far that you are resting inside the bed. It will get gentler after some time, so remember that when purchasing or exploiting the time for testing.

While pushing into the highest point of the Nolah, you will feel the delicate Viscose cover and the 2-inch froth layer. The experience is like adjustable foam in feel. The sleeping pad’s responsiveness when pushing into it and discharging is amidst conventional moderate adjustable foam and the fast flexibility of latex.

As recently referenced, Nolah works ponders for side sleepers. The organization touts details about offering multiple times less weight on hips, bears, and back regions than different beds, which is a best need for those on their sides.

Back and stomach sleepers will ordinarily observe the help they need, so they should be alright with their arrangement.

In any case, essentially heavier people who rest on their back or stomach may need to think about another bedding. The bed’s extravagant feel may not offer the essential help from sinking into the bed.

On the off chance that you are thinking about this brand, it is a generally safe speculation because of the 120-day time for testing that incorporates free sending and get.

Heat Retention

The 100% temperature neutral Nolah AirFoam combined with the breathable Avena foam provides plentiful air circulation through the foam that keeps the heat away.

It can shame any of the other memory foam mattresses for being sweaty and hot in time. It does not use temperature sensitive foam, which is why it allows cool air to pass through it. The covering material also wicks the body moisture away to keep the temperature under control. This in turn makes it a perfect choice for the hotter areas like Florida.

Off-gassing

You may experience a little off-gassing with this mattress. It may take a couple of hours before its smell leaves the room.

Nolah performs well regarding to off-gassing, and the foam is all CertiPUR-US certified as proof for being made without known harmful substances.

Motion Transfer

Not at all like customary beds that have cheap innersprings and consistent curls, froth and memory beds are awesome with regards to movement exchange. Nolah is no exemption. There is for all intents and purposes no movement exchange on this bed.

While movement exchange isn’t critical to everybody, it very well may be fundamental to light sleepers with accomplices or pets.

Edge Support

Nolah performs somewhat better than expected to similar beds concerning edge bolster.

As not out of the ordinary of froth beds, you will sink down further than sitting on innersprings while sitting on the edge. A large portion of your time will be spent dozing on the sleeping pad, so this is a minor detail for generally purchasers.

While resting on the edge, the base layer of polyurethane offers firm help. You ought not move off the bedding, but rather stay easily set up. This is vital for people who rest on or close to the edge.

Size and Pricing

In case you’re persuaded the Nolah is the correct sleeping pad for you, the size and valuing data for the bedding are beneath.

Summary

The Nolah mattress is truly unique and a next-generation foam mattress not being made from Memory Foam like almost all the other online mattresses.

Nolah uses a newer and better type of foam not made with the same heat-trapping chemicals as found in any Memory Foam.

The result is the only 100% temperature neutral all-foam mattress solving the “sleeping hot” issue most sleepers have with Memory Foam.

It’s also more durable and offers 4 times better pressure relief, making Nolah exceptionally ideal for side sleepers seeking a bit more comfort than your average foam mattress.

A rare benefit with Nolah is that fact that all their uniquely features such as better pressure relief, cooler, and more durable have been proven using performance testing methods.

Normally, we do not see proven claims for most mattresses, but Nolah has the results and performance nailed down better than any other mattress we reviewed in the past.

Thanks to years of experience in the industry, the Nolah Mattress manufacturers developed a good product with a general appeal.

Although it competes in the very crowded market of the bed-in-a-box mattresses, the Nolah receives plenty of positive reviews thanks to its good technology combined with quality and a unique, nature-inspired design.

If you are looking for an overall good memory foam mattress without the bells and whistles of some of its more expensive competitors, the Nolah can be right for you.
